Vintage Steiff Puppy Dog Plush Figure
Vintage Steiff Puppy Dog Plush Figure
It was love at first sight when I saw this guy in a small antique store on the coast of Maine. He’s lost most of his plush fur from a century of being well-loved, but this makes him look even more modern, even more sculptural. He is Steiff all the way, from his beautiful amber glass eyes to the hole in his ear that once bore the Steiff tag. While he would be charming in a child’s room, his light caramel color and great stance makes him sophisticated enough to grace a bookshelf paired with suede covered books.
Condition: Good, no tears, ripped seams or stuffing coming out. Overall discoloration from age.
Description: Terrier dog breed. Visible hole mark from its missing metal "STEIFF" button on its right ear as its Steiff ID. Made in the late 40’s. Material is a tan, artificial silk fabric that has textural movement to it when brushed one direction or the other.
Measurements (approximately): 13” Long, 6” Wide, 10” High
