The Barbour Silver Co. made a collection of carved silver quadruple-plated on a silver nickel base, giving these pieces their heft and a thick peasant table quality. (I’m all about a rough and tumble peasant table where the dings and dents tell a story of purposeful use since the collection’s origins in 1929.) I love picking up pieces like this small cup to give as baby shower gifts filled with tubes of lotions and Q tips. Its a gift that never looses it usefulness. It’s a great size for a sprig of flowers on a bedside table or by a sink in a guest room.

Description: Engraved floral design on silver plated hollow ware with curved handle. Made in Hartford CT. Made sometime between 1921 to 1931.
